I’m so sorry… I know this year I started Christmas’ time very soon! Last year was incredible, they were our first Christmas as a family of three and you know, with a baby every single moment means a new whole world. But this year, I’m even happier and excited because now we are 4 in the family -counting #ManiTheDog- and because now #missOlivia is not a baby anymore, she’s now a cute lil’ pretty girl. I had mixed feelings with this, because I wanted her as a baby forever, but I also feel so proud of our daily work with her. It’s mesmerizing how beautiful she is, how quickly she understands the world and everything near her, how she plays and how she learns… So this year, we brought off all the Christmas’ stuff we had on the basement and we already started to decorate the house. You guys remember that I talked to you about Zeeman some time ago and in Berlin we stopped by one of their shops to see how they were. I just wanted to take a look and at the end, I caught something-something :) As I told you, I want to start our own traditions and one of those is gonna be to take Christmas pictures every year. I know that it may sound cheesy, but when I take a look at them next December, I’m sure I will feel happy for taking them. Maybe we have to try a couple more times in order to get one decent family portrait, but any excuse to take pictures with my girl is just fine :)

Lo siento, lo siento… ¡Este año he dado el pistoletazo de salida a las Navidades antes que nunca! El año pasado me hizo mucha ilusión porque era la primera navidad de nuestra pequeña familia de tres. Este año, me hace más ilusión si cabe porque somos 4 incluyendo a Mani y porque este año #missOlivia es menos bebé y más niña. Al principio, me daba mucha pena ver que crecía tan rápido… Y sí, me sigue dando pena pero también muchas alegrías. Nos reímos tanto con ella, nos lo pasamos tan bien viendo cómo aprende, cómo juega con Mani, cómo crece… Así que, este año hemos sacado todos los adornos de Navidad antes de tiempo y ya hemos empezado a decorar la casa. Hace un tiempo os hablé de la cadena Zeeman y aprovechando que en Berlin pasamos por una, entré para curiosear y compré algunas cositas ideales.  Como os conté, quiero empezar a crear pequeñas tradiciones familiares y una de ellas quiero que sea hacer una sesión de fotos cada Navidad. Quizás pueda sonar un poco cursi, pero seguro que cuando el año que viene vea estas fotos, me alegraré tanto de haberlas hecho… Además, a mi cualquier excusa me sirve para hacer fotos con mi chica :) Decidme una madre que no le encante hacerse fotos con sus hij@s!

I know, this doggy is so patience with #missOlivia but also with us… :) But hey, we have to accept so many antics too! Look at his face of resignation… Too cute that melts my heart!

Este perro se ha ganado el cielo, porque sólo con la paciencia que tiene con #missOlivia -porque bruta es un rato- y con nosotros… :) ¡Su cara de resignación es total!

Another tradition that we already started last year is to buy a special Christmas ornament and write down the date of the year. I loved this one made of wood with the pine and the pine cones and she specially loves it too, because she’s obsessed with it! I have to admit that I feel a little bit nervous when I see the mix of a expensive Christmas tree + ornaments + dos + lil’ princess around, but he didn’t touch the tree even once and she doesn’t pay too much attention to the tree either, not in that naughty way. Actually, she helped me out to put all the ornaments around but as you may guess, she loves the garland lights ♥

Otra de las pequeñas tradiciones que quiero mantener es comprar un adorno especial cada año, y ponerle la fecha. Este de madera con las piñas me gustó mucho y a #missOlivia más, porque desde que lo he puesto en el árbol, no lo para de tocar. Me pongo un pelín nerviosa cuando visualizado bolas y árbol + niña & perro alrededor, pero Mani ni lo ha tocado y Olivia para mi sorpresa tampoco. Es más, me ayudó «a su manera» a ir poniendo los adornos en el árbol, aunque lo que más le gustó fue la guirnalda de luces ♥

Yes, I have that american thing for Christmas sweaters, and even socks :P This year I made it to have one each of us, now I just need another for Mani and we’ll be done!

Es algo muy americano, pero siempre he querido tener un jersey navideño, y este año he conseguido que todos tengamos algo. Ahora, sólo me falta algo para Mani :P Creedme que ésta es nuestra foto más decente de los cuatro y sé que no es una super foto, pero me hace mucha gracia porque yo sí he visto todos los demás intentos y… ♥♥♥

Regarding Christmas’ decor, we are not done yet but I’m lovin’ it so far. Here I have to point that it’s my mother the artist of the family. She’s so good at decoration and she is so handy and so good at crafts. Maybe I’m the first case in the world of a person who loves crafts but she’s not good at it. This is just because I have zero patience and I’m so impatient, and if I see that it’s not looking oh so perfect, then I leave it aside… One of the focus when we talk about decoration, aside the tree, is the table. The good news is that even if you are not handy at all as me, with a little of imagination we can get a beautiful set up. When I saw this pine cones in the Zeeman shop, I instantly thought that they were perfect for the table at the living room. Also, I bought fresh natural pine, a garland lights and a fake pine crown to use it as a centerpiece -both things from Zeeman too-, a couple of pretty candles… at voilà! It wasn’t at the first but the second round when I got it ;) I started putting the largest branches from the center of the table, where I placed the pine crown with a little jar in the middle, to both sides and then I put all the small branches to just fill small holes. Then I threw all the pine cones randomly, and last but not least, I hid the garland in between the branches. So, after my personal experience, maybe it’s a better idea and easier to embroil the garland around the branches before putting the rest of the elements ;) I used some satin bow I had from the past year as a napkin holder, a little pine branch and a pine cone. Simple but beautiful!

En cuanto a decoración navideña, lo primero que tengo que decir que la «manitas y artista» en la familia es mi madre. Ella tiene mucha mano con la decoración en general y se le dan muy bien las manualidades. Como le digo siempre a Salva «debo de ser el primer caso de alguien a quien le encantan las manualidades pero se le dan fatal!». Ésto se debe principalmente a que soy una persona nerviosa e impaciente, y si no me queda perfectísimo del verbo perfecto, lo dejo… Una de las cosas que más luce, además del árbol, es la mesa y con un poquito de imaginación, es posible decorar una mesa ideal. Cuando vi estas piñas pintadas de blanco en la tienda Zeeman, en seguida pensé en ellas para decorar la mesa del salón. Además, compré pino natural, una guirnalda de luces y una corona para hacer el centro de mesa -también ambos de Zeeman-, una vela aquí, una vela allá y… ¡voilà! No voy a decir que me salió a la primera, pero sí a la segunda ;) Simplemente dispuse las ramas más grandes hacia un lado y otro, la corona con un pequeño jarrón en medio y luego fue esparciendo las ramas más pequeñas. Aproveché para poner las piñas donde se había quedado los huecos más grandes, y por último enredé la guirnalda que funciona con pilas a lo largo. Eso sí, os recomiendo dada la experiencia que pongáis la guirnalda lo primero de todo porque así resulta más fácil ;) Para los servilleteros usé lazo que tenía de otros años y lo até con hilo de algodón, una pequeña ramita de pino y una piña. ¡Sencillo pero bonito!

And the last tradition consists on writing on Christmas cards the most important things that happened along the year, remembering all the things that I’m thankful for and what I want for the New Year is about to start. I will not only love to read in the future what I wrote the previous years, but it’s also a good reflection exercise. It’s been a while being this way, when I have to say that every year is better than the previous one, better that I have ever expected and I’m receiving more that I’m giving. What can I say… I think that Christmas brings out the best of us and we share that with our beloved ones, it’s a time when we only focus in the people we love, the things that actually matter. Being just surrounding with family and friends and just being happy because we are all here.

Y una última tradición va a consistir en escribir cada año un Christmas contando lo más importante de este año, por qué estoy agradecida y qué cosas espero para el nuevo año. No sólo me gustará leer cada año lo que escribí el anterior, si no que además te sirve como un buen ejercicio de reflexión. Llevo un tiempo que cada año es mejor que el anterior, mejor de lo que jamás pensé que podría ser, hago más de lo que espero y recibo más de todo lo que di. Qué os voy a decir… La navidad saca lo mejor de nosotros, y me encanta que haya una época en la que lo único importante sean los seres queridos, pasar tiempo en familia y ser felices. ♥
