When we went to Madrid, I was pretty sure about how I wanted to spend that spare time and obviously it was «us». After the event and taking some pictures, we went to have lunch and just enjoy the time together. I love that still today and after 2 kids, we manage somehow to keep that flame that some times routine and daily life kills; I won’t say that our life is perfect and this kind of things don’t happen in our lives, because there are days that we almost forget to kiss each other! But these short trips keep me calm and security about our love because underneath of high levels of stress, schedules, diapers and silly discussions, we are still the same we get to know each other 9 years ago, despite de fact that nothing around us is the same. Since we lived in Madrid for a year a couple of years ago, we feel so nostalgic every time we go because it doesn’t feel like any other city; we have so many good memories from that year and definitely it has a little corner in our hearts. That’s the reason why I always want to extend any trip to Madrid for at least one more day and I love the fact that it will never feel again like an unknown place. This time we spent less than 48 hours but enough to get lost in between streets, smile like a little kid when I find something new and that feeling of when you already know something, it still surprise your in the most random and unknown way. I called that city «home» for a year and we’ll never forget that. This was the first that we really fully enjoyed our stay and everything was more than perfect. The lunch, the walks and definitely all the laughts. I looked more dressed-up than usual and I wore my favorite pair of heels right now, I wanted to take the advantage of living the life with kids for a day, and we just enjoy one of the simplest things in love, that I’ve been taking for granted for years and now I treat like a real treasure: time. It was that perfect that when we wanted to realize, it was almost noon and there was no much light left, but still I wanted to take pictures of what I was wearing and never forget this romantic time with my love. Some time ago, I read somewhere on Instagram a sentence about the importance to spend some time everyday, a glass of wine once a week, a special date once a month and a romantic getaway once a year. This is going to be on my list of resolutions for the New Year and I’m gonna make sure we filled up this religiously ♥

Cuando nos fuimos a Madrid, tenía claro que las casi 48h que nos íbamos a ausentar de nuestra ajetreada vida como padres, las quería dedicar enteras a nosotros, y así fue. Después del evento y de hacer algunas fotos, nos fuimos a comer y a disfrutar de los dos. Adoro que todavía hoy, después de 9 años y dos hijos, aún no hayamos perdido esa chispa que a menudo la vida diaria y la rutina acaban matando; no diré que en el día a día no sea así, tanto que si algún día nos despistamos, casi nos vamos a dormir sin habernos dado siquiera un beso! Pero son estos viajes o escapadas las que me dan la tranquilidad de saber que debajo de esas toneladas de estrés, los horarios, pañales y rutinas, de los agobios y de las discusiones absurdas por quién se olvidó de bajar los pañales sucios o de lavar los biberones, aun seguimos siendo nosotros, los que éramos entonces y los que seguimos siendo aun hoy aunque ya nada sea como antes. Desde que vivimos en Madrid durante un año, le cogimos mucho cariño a la ciudad, y cada vez que vuelvo, ya no la veo como una desconocida; ahora muchos rincones han pasado a formar parte de mi album de sitios favoritos y que albergan algunas historias y momentos especiales. Y es por eso que siempre que se nos presenta la oportunidad de ir, intentamos alargar la estancia y volver a recordar algunos de esos rincones, pero esta ha sido la primera vez que he vuelto a sentir lo que es callejear sin reloj, perderme entre las mil calles, sonreír al encontrar sitios que no conocía y que Madrid me siga sorprendiendo tanto como la primera vez que llegué y la llamé «casa» durante algunos meses de mi vida. Es la primera vez desde hace años que la hemos disfrutado pero de verdad, y es que aquel día todo fue perfecto. La comida, los paseos y las risas. Me arreglé aunque sabía que no íbamos a hacer nada especial, me puse mis tacones favoritos del momento porque ya no forman parte de mis planes de tarde, y nos dedicamos a disfrutar de una de las cosas más simples que hay, que antes no valoraba y que ahora me parece un tesoro: el tiempo. Tan rápido se sucedieron las horas, que cuando nos quisimos dar cuenta, se nos hacía de noche, y aunque nunca hacemos fotos a estas horas, no podía dejar que un día tan bonito no quedase inmortalizado en unas fotos. Hace poco leí una frase en Instagram que me encantó y que desde que la descubrí, nos la hemos tomado muy en serio. Dice algo así como que para mantener siempre viva la llama del amor y seguir queriéndonos, para no olvidarnos nunca el uno del otro a pesar de las circunstancias: «un rato al día, una caña a la semana, una cena al mes y una escapada al año». Va  ser uno de mis propósitos de año nuevo y que pienso cumplir a pies juntillas ♥
